about the company

Atomic Energy Systems of Ukraine LLC (AESU) is a Ukrainian company established in 2015 to attract investments from industry-focused and institutional partners and to implement projects related to geological study, exploration, and uranium extraction in Ukraine.

AESU is part of the BGV Group Management investment group and serves as a specialized company capable of implementing strategic uranium mining projects. The company has completed the full scope of works across four uranium deposits, including geological exploration, resource assessment, feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments (EIA), and state expert reviews. AESU is the only private company in Ukraine with confirmed uranium reserves under the JORC international reporting standard (Safonivske deposit).

AESU is committed to launching uranium projects rapidly, professionally, and transparently; investing substantial own capital; engaging international partners through long-term offtake agreements; and ensuring that this critically important sector has access to domestically sourced uranium.

The mission of AESU is to ensure Ukraine’s nuclear energy sector is supplied with domestically produced natural uranium, reduce the country’s dependence on imported strategic raw materials, and build a modern, transparent mining model that meets international standards.

operations and areas of activity

AESU carries out comprehensive activities in the search, exploration, and extraction of uranium ores, creating a full technological production cycle.

Key areas of activity:

  • Geological study and resource assessment: from collecting baseline geological materials to implementing drilling programs, laboratory analyses, and resource modelling;
  • Deposit development: application of modern, engineering-proven and environmentally verified technologies, including in-situ leaching (ISL) methods that ensure economic and environmental efficiency;
  • Uranium ore processing and concentrate production: development of technological solutions for obtaining high-quality natural uranium suitable for nuclear fuel production;
  • Scientific and technical research: cooperation with specialized institutes and universities to advance innovation in geology, chemistry, and nuclear energy;
  • Investment-driven project development: establishment of new production capacities, infrastructure preparation, and engagement of partnerships to scale the sector.

 

AESU is actively developing promising uranium sites, including sandstone-type and metasomatic-type deposits, conducting drilling campaigns, and performing detailed resource modelling. An additional strategic direction involves research into the deployment of next-generation small modular reactors (SMRs), aligned with Ukraine’s long-term energy strategy.
